ETT ANNOUNCE TWO CO-PRODUCTIONS WITH ORANGE TREE THEATRE
We are delighted to announce two co-productions with Orange Tree Theatre! Dealing with Clair by Martin Crimp, directed by English Touring Theatre's Artistic Director Richard Twyman, and Cougar, the world premiere of a new play by Rose Lewenstein, directed by Chelsea Walker.
Dealing with Clair will run at Orange Tree Theatre from 26 October - 1 December 2018 and Cougar will run 1 February - 2 March 2019.
In our 18/19 season we are delighted to be collaborating with the Orange Tree Theatre on two co-productions.
Dealing with Clair was first performed 30 years ago, and yet the play’s searing portrayal of power, economics and sexual politics is devastatingly prescient for the world of today. Martin Crimp is a defining voice in contemporary theatre, his work is trail-blazing and prophetic and we're thrilled that Richard will direct the first major London revival of this play.
Cougar is a provocative new play about what – and who – we consume, as the world we see around us falls apart. Rose Lewenstein is an exceptional new voice, and we can't wait to share her work with audiences across the country. Chelsea Walker directs following her critically acclaimed production of A Streetcar Named Desire for ETT.
These two plays, written 30 years apart, speak to each other in their exploration of the intersection of power and sexual politics, the impact of which can be devastating. We are excited to bring them to audiences nationwide.
