Derrick Zieba set up Derrick Zieba Sound Design in 1998 to concentrate on sound design for large-scale worldwide musical projects. This followed a long career, encompassing head of sound at the National Theatre, work on musical ltheatre and corporate projects for Theatre Projects Services Ltd, and a position as director and founder member of Dimension Audio Ltd, a sound services company led by a team of dedicated sound designers. As live event sound supervisor, work includes: the Queen's golden & Diamond jubilee concerts and the Queen's 80th birthday celebration concert. As sound designer his work includes: the Brit Awards, the MTV EMA's, Operalia, Channel V Music Awards, and Royal Film Premiers including Titanic 3D & Skyfall at the Royal Albert Hall. In 2008, Derrick was sound designer for Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday celebrations in Hyde Park and in July 2009, he was asked to design the sound for the Mandela Day celebration concert in Radio City, New York. He has worked extensively in theatre alongside directors including: Sir Peter Hall, Richard Ayre, Lindsay Anderson and David Hare; and has worked with such diverse musical talents as Harrison Birtwistle, Mark Elder, Andrew Davis, Tina Turner, Sergio Mendes, Jimmy Page, Michael Jackson and Diana Ross.
